ADAPT-L
The "Library Adaptive Technology" list ADAPT-L is intended for public, academic, and special library employees interested in improving access to their workplaces through the use of adaptive devices. The primary end-users of these devices are individuals with disabilities. ADAPT-L will be a medium for:

  • sharing product information
  • asking and answering related reference questions
  • disseminating information about consultants, other network resources, legislation, case studies, etc.
  • and other related issues. ADAPT-L is intended as an unmoderated flow of information open to the public.

CSW-DIABETES

DACX
Disability Action Committee for X Windows DACX is an open organization, made up of individuals who have volunteered from various companies, colleges, consumer groups, universities, etc., all interested in making the X Window System more accessible. Most of the activity within DACX is conducted via e-mail among the members. However, DACX has gotten together as a group on several occasions at major conferences with a focus on disability.

DADVOCAT
DADVOCAT is an unmoderated list for dads of children with disabilities or special health needs. The issues, challanges, and rewards that are part of being a father to children with disabilities or special health needs is the topic of this forum. The mission of DADVOCAT is to share information, inquiries, ideas, and opinions on matters pertaining to the experiences of fathers of children who are confronted with such challenges. DADVOCAT is open to any interested persons, including fathers, professionals with an interest in the topic, and others who care for children with disabilities or other special health needs.

DATEACH
DATEACH is a discussion group for teachers with disabilities. The purpose of the discussion is:

  • to share information about problems and solutions regarding teaching with a disability
  • to give and receive support, and
  • to provide some guidance for disabled persons who wish to pursue a teaching career.

Teachers with disabilities, former teachers, administrators, and future teachers are all encouraged to participate in this discussion group. ADA specialist attorneys and advisors are also welcome, as are directors for Disabled Student Service in Higher Education. Teacher union representatives may also find this a helpful group.
